We are Jake and Tanya Wilson, missionaries in Tabacundo, Ecuador. We have been directors at Hacienda of Hope Christian Academy for almost 2 years. Despite having 170 kids that we care and love for during the week, we long to have one of our own.
After almost 3 years of trying to get pregnant, we sought out advice from a fertility specialist. We recently underwent testing and have been told that our best option of getting pregnant is to do an IVF procedure.
IVF is the process of fertilization by manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish, and then transferring the embryo to the uterus.
Fortunately for us, having this procedure in Ecuador costs half of what it would cost us in the United States. In the United States, IVF runs from $15,000-$20,000. In Ecuador, the medicine costs $7,000 and $1,500 for each procedure there after with frozen embryos.
We would like to petition your help and prayers as we fundraise to cover these medical expenses and go through this emotional time. There are no words to express how much you, our friends, family and supports mean to us. You have been such a large part of our lives and we are blessed by you, the times you love on us, and your desire to serve God through us and the work in Ecuador.
We firmly believe that as we work here in Ecuador, serving the kids and community, God will bless us with kids of our own.
